Brooke Thomas hit a walk-off single to left center with the bases loaded to give Adams Central an emotional 5-4 victory over Churubusco Wednesday night.
The two teams entered the final inning with the score tied 3-3, but Busco pushed a run across in the top of the inning to put pressure on the home team.
Baylee Smith drew a walk to lead off the seventh and Jozie Zimmerman put runners on the corner with one out, setting the table for RBI machine Melina Peralez. The Jets’ third baseman tied the game with single to center and the Eagles elected to load the bases intentionally by walking Izzy Isch, setting the table for Thomas.
All four runs allowed by the Jets on the night were unearned, as the defense committed five errors behind Lilli Jackson and Jenna Cook. Cook threw the final four innings and was credited with the victory.
