Heritage edged out Bluffton and South Adams for the victory in the last ACAC Triple before Friday’s ACAC meet. Maya Gerber swept the throwing events and with the help of classmate Madilyn Scheumann (runner-up in both events), provided the winning margin for the Patriots.
Notes & Results:
-Emmerson Smith (SA) ran her best 100 of the year and finished in fourth place.
-Lydia Bauman (SA) clocked a PR in the 200 and was sixth for the Starfires. Bauman also had a PR in the 400.
-Olivia Lybarger finished second behind teammate DiNestee Williams White with a season best for the Patriots, edging Bluffton’s Maryn Schreiber by just .04 seconds.
-Adalynn Watson won the 800 for the Stars with a PR of 2:39.02.
-Kalle Trausch trimmed 23 seconds from her season best and also set a PR in the mile with a third-place finish behind teammates Adalynn Watson and Nia Litwiller with a time of 6:28.52. She also ran her best time of the year in the 3200.
-Litwiller lowered her PR in the 3200 to 13:18.10 with a victory for the Stars.
-Elise Hissong was second in the 3200 for Heritage, cutting nearly half a minute from her best time this year.
-Kapri Bixler (SA) won the 100 hurdles with a season-best time of 16.40.
-Ava Schmit (SA) was the winner in the 300 hurdles, finishing in 49.35 (a season best) to beat out teammate Kapri Bixler.
-Adalynn Watson jumped into the Starfires’ 4×400 team and helped them win the event with a season-best time of 4:29.17.
-The Starfires needed to be at their best, because Heritage was directly behind them with their own top time of the year in 4:29.86.
-Heritage freshman Grace Scheumann became the first Patriot high jumper to clear 4′ 2″ Tuesday, sharing first-place points with high jump newcomer Liz Gerber of South Adams.
-The Patriots’ Piper Pierce, who qualified for Indoor State this year in the long jump, made a huge improvement on her PR, adding a foot and winning Tuesday with a distance of 17-03.75.
-It was also a good night in the long jump pit for teammates Trinitee Brown and Natalie Otte. The Heritage freshman (Brown) added over a foot to her PR and finished third with a 15′ 10.25″, while the senior (Otte) went 15-01.25 and was fourth.
-Alexa Walter (Heritage) was third in the shot behind teammates Maya Gerber and Madilyn Scheumann with a career best toss of 31′ 5.5″.
-Gerber’s winning throw in the discus was easily the best of this season and much closer to her PR, set last year against Jay County. Scheumann also had her best throw of the season, six feet from her all-time best throw.
-The Starfires also had success in the discus net, with Megan Yoder producing her best throw of the season for fifth place.
