WZBD’s feature game of Friday was between two long-time rivals at Bellmont, as the Braves renewed their rivalry with the Norwell Knights with rain looming.
While the rain eventually came, it was not before the Braves blasted three home runs and built a 10-2 lead.
By rule, the game must be completed because it is a conference game, so it will be resumed at some point in the coming weeks before the postseason begins.
Norwell actually led in the game as the Braves struggled to get the ball in on a weak single, but Bella Ashley shut down the Knights and held them to just two hits after that in four innings of work.
When the game does resume, Sami Lemler will be in the circle against Bella Ashley with one out in the bottom of the fourth with the bases loaded and the score set at 10-2.
Taylor Bauer was 3 for 3 Friday night with five RBI, including home runs in the first and again in the fourth, clearing the bases just before the game was called due to the rain.
Emily Bleke also homered in the second inning.
