Sofia Schwartz and the South Adams Starfires teed off on Union City pitching Thursday, smashing four home runs to build a ten-run lead in just four innings as they went on to win 11-1 in five against the Indians.
Schwartz homered to center in her first at-bat to knock in Shea Alberson, then doubled with the bases loaded in the top of the third. Her home run in the fourth came with Bekah Patterson and Macy Pries on base, giving her eight RBI in just three plate appearances.
Addie Baker and Tessa Bernard each homered to top off the scoring for the Starfires, who are now 9-1.
The team’s game against Bellmont was canceled for Friday, leaving the Stars to wait until Tuesday when they travel to Jay County for a matchup of two of the top teams in the ACAC.
