Manchester Squires (1-2) at Adams Central Flying Jets (0-2), Tuesday, November 13, 7:30 p.m.
Manchester scored a big win Saturday when they beat Maconaquah at home and they will attempt to get back to .500 at the Hangar Tuesday night. Coach Kyle Roe’s team is still trying to find its way and tonight could be a battle. The Manchester program was turned around by Allison Kaufman in her second season in charge last year as she won six games and has the program headed in the right direction.
The Jets have not played defense to the level of coach Roe’s hopes and that will certainly be a point of emphasis for Tuesday’s contest. The Squires are averaging 40 points a game and one would think coach Roe will be hoping for a similar number Tuesday.
Series History
Last season the Squires snapped a three-game losing streak to Adams Central with an overtime victory (46-43). These two teams are now in the same sectional and would have met in last year’s tournament, but the Squires fell to Bluffton before they got the chance.
Players to Watch
The Squires have a nice balance between point guard Brookelynn Buzzard and forward Gracie Lauer. Buzzard is averaging 12.7 points per game this season and Lauer is shooting over 50% from the field through the first three games.
Adams Central will have to find a way to stay competitive on the boards to stay in this contest.
