Wayne Generals (0-3) at Heritage Patriots (0-2), Tuesday, November 14th, 7:30 p.m.
One of these teams is set to get the first win of the season in what figures to be the first competitive game for either team, as both have been blown out in each contest so far this year. The Generals have played three very good teams so far, though, with a combined record of 9-2 as of Tuesday morning. Wayne and head coach Lacia Gorman will likely press the Heritage guards and look to create turnovers and opportunities in transition. The young Heritage Patriots will have to take care of the basketball in their first home game of the season.
Wayne has been a particularly poor free throw shooting team so far this season, making just 6 of 24 shots from the line.
Series History
Coach Sisson’s team fell 60-39 at Wayne last season, but the program had enjoyed a six-game winning streak over the Generals before last November. There was a time when these two schools were in the same sectional, but that was all the way back in 2003.
Player to Watch
Freshman Davianna Irons has made a big impact for the Generals so far this season, leading the team in rebounds and in scoring.
Tani Hairston leads the team in steals and has been a consistent contributor to the program since her freshman year. The junior averaged 4.5 points per game last season.
