With the regular season now complete, the Bellmont Braves have once again clinched an unbeaten NE8 season after winning at Columbia City Thursday night 25-13, 25-9, 25-13.
The victory over the Eagles extended Bellmont’s unbeaten run in the conference to an impressive 32 games. The last conference loss for Coach Krull’s team came against Leo when outside hitter MaryKate Scheumann was in sixth grade, showing just how dominant the program has been locally.

Scheumann led the Braves Thursday with 12 kills.
Of course, coach Krull appreciates the conference title, but the Braves really only have one goal this year and that is to win a state title. With the regular season out of the way, the focus now falls on next week’s IHSAA Sectional at Norwell, where the Braves will face Mississinewa on Tuesday.
Delaney Lawson finished with 11 kills and two solo blocks, while Hailey Cole led the team with 31 assists and three service aces.
Tuesday’s match against Mississinewa will be broadcast on WZBD and begin at 7 p.m.
Bellmont finished the regular season at 28-2.
