A string of three home games over three days gave Daniel Vogel the opportunity to show the area that he is a goal-scoring threat for the Bellmont Braves and he took advantage of it, scoring in all three contests and leading his team to a win over Wayne Thursday night, 5-2.
Vogel’s fifth goal of the season came in the first half as coach Derek Trobeck’s team took a 4-0 lead into halftime.

“We really possessed the ball well,” noted Trobeck after the big win. “We got reliable play from some of our veterans and saw some real bright spots from our young guys.”

One of those bright spots is varsity newcomer Taufeeq Ally, who was named player of the game after the contest by Trobeck. Ally, whose love of the game has been a real buoy to the team this season, scored in the first half and added an assist in the second.

The Braves got a PK goal from Andrew James, who continues to dominate possession for the team, in the first half, as well as a goal by Alex Schirack. The big midfielder has been distributing the ball well and coach Trobeck noted his physical style of play as a real plus for the Braves.

Sophomore winger Jack Johnson contributed a goal in the second half with the assist from Ally and the Braves outshot Wayne in the second spell of 40 minutes.
The Generals scored twice in the second half on goalie Xavior Palacios, but the sophomore got the win, making five saves. Palacios and fellow keeper Parker Frietas each took one full game this week and then split one to keep both boys active and fresh for the upcoming grind of the season.
