The Adams County Community Foundation recently awarded a grant for security upgrades for the summer concert series to the Decatur Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber sponsors 14 concerts from June 1st to August 31st on Thursday evenings. In addition to the concerts, the Decatur Chamber also sponsors events such as the DeKegger, a July 4th Celebration, Germanfest, Highland Games and Callithumpian events. At each concert and event, security is provided by local police officers.
Linda Morris, Decatur Chamber of Commerce Executive Assistant and grant writer, expressed appreciation to the ACCF for this support, providing security, sound and lights for concerts and festival events. Craig Coshow, Decatur Chamber of Commerce Executive Director also noted that having police officers at concerts and other festivals has benefited the public with emergency responders available when emergencies occur. Jenny Buchan, ACCF grants committee member, noted that the ACCF is pleased to be able to support Decatur Chamber of Commerce and their efforts to provide family friendly events for our residents.

This ACCF grant was made possible through unrestricted funds sponsored by the David & Sandra Collier, Doyle & Sara Lu Collier, First Bank of Berne, Richard F. & Colleen L. Linn, and the Patricia ‘Pat’ Steury Memorial Community Enrichment Funds.
