One day after scoring 19 runs against Eastbrook, the Adams Central Flying Jets rode a five-hit night by Trevor Currie to capture a 15-5 road win against new sectional rival Blackford Thursday evening.
The Jets collected 18 hits, many of them coming in a huge second inning where they scored nine times.
Currie doubled and scored in the first, hit an RBI single in the second, led off the fourth with a single, hit another base hit in the fifth and finished his night with a single in the seventh.Â
Keegan Bluhm also homered for Adams Central.
The Jets threw Dakota Perry for the first three innings and he allowed just two hits and four runs. Keegan Combs made a brief relief appearance before giving way to Ryan Tester, who picked up the save with 3.2 innings of clean work. He struck out six and gave up just one hit to close out the ballgame.
The Jets are now 15-8 with one regular season game left. They will host Blackhawk Christian Friday.
