Five Heritage errors allowed Eastside to score two runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings, but Noah Redmon allowed just one hit as the home Patriots went on to a 7-4 win over the 2021 state finalist Blazers.
Redmon struck out 13 overall and his first ten outs came from Ks. He did walk in a run after two errors loaded the bases in the fourth, but the only Blazer hit was a two-run single that briefly gave the visitors the lead at 4-2.
Caleb Abbott started the rally for Heritage in the bottom of the inning and Eastside plunked Redmon to put two runners on with Jackson Bearman coming up. Bearman and Dalton White each recorded RBI hits and the Blazers’ lead lasted for all of five minutes.
Abbott, Redmon and Bearman each recorded RBIs in the bottom of the sixth as the Patriots scored three times for the win.
Abbott led the Patriots with three hits, while Bearman, Ashton Barker and Cameron Rauner each had two hits.
Heritage will play at Garrett Wednesday.
