Robby Ellenberger and Ryan Tester combined for a one-hitter Monday as Adams Central finished the ACAC slate with an 11-1 victory at home in six innings. Tester added three hits and two runs at the plate for the Jets.Â
Southern Wells got on the board first with a run off Ellenberger in the top of the second after an error, but the Jets jumped ahead with three in the third.
Cade Van De Weg began that half inning with a triple and he scored with Ryan Tester at the plate on a passed ball. Tester then singled and scored on Trevor Currie’s base hit and the Jets were off and running.
A double by Keegan Bluhm in the bottom of the fifth highlighted a three-run inning and the Jets walked off with the win with five runs in the sixth to trigger the run rule. Five base hits and a walk in six straight at-bats ended with Bluhm’s walk-off double scoring Dakota Perry and Jack Hamilton.
Ellenberger threw three innings and allowed one hit and one unearned run while walking five.Â
Tester allowed no hits and two walks with two strikeouts.
Bryar Gearheart had the only Southern Wells hit.
The Jets are now 13-7 with a game at Eastbrook scheduled for Wednesday. That game will be aired live on WZBD 92.7 FM.
