Heritage superstar Danica Fuller was outstanding again Monday night, going 3 for 4 at the plate and striking out 14 as she threw a complete game two-hitter to beat Garrett 6-0.
Fuller had three singles at the plate and Claire Bickel had an RBI double to lead the hitting attack for the Patriots. Lydia Schultz also had an RBI single in the first.
Garrett had no answer at the dish against Fuller, striking out in the first five plate appearances. The Railroaders did not record a hit until the fifth inning with one out. They followed it up with another single to put two on, but Avi Washington made a nice play at third to record the final out of the inning.
Washington led off the next inning with a single and later scored on a wild pitch. The third baseman recorded an RBI single in the top of the seventh for the game’s final run.
Heritage will play at home against Bluffton Tuesday.
