Josh Foster and his Adams Central Flying Jets drove south to Monroe Central to take on the Golden Bears Saturday and came back to Monroe with two more wins under their belt to move to 9-2 on the season as the team won its fifth and sixth games in a row since a loss at Bellmont on April 11th.
Jack Hamilton’s home run to left on a 2-2 pitch in the first at-bat of the game charged up the away team, leading them to a seven-run first inning. Hamilton ended the opener 3 for 4 with a pair of runs and two RBI.
The seven runs of support were all AC starter Ryan Tester needed. He went four innings for the win, allowing one earned run and striking out four.

Ryan Black pitched the final two innings in relief to finish off the game, allowing just two baserunners and striking out three.
In the second game, the runs came much later and the two teams played a little bit of bonus baseball, with the Jets sweeping the doubleheader with four runs in the top of the eighth. After leading 5-3 heading into the bottom of the sixth, they needed a run in the top of the seventh to tie it and they got it when Trevor Currie came home to tie the game at six runs apiece.
Tester, who started at second base in the latter game, was 3 for 5 with three runs driven in on two doubles.
Logan Uhlman was the winning pitcher, throwing the last 2.2 innings in relief without allowing a run and striking out four.
“We played really well in that first game,” admitted coach Foster. “Then to fight back and get it done in game two, it was a full team effort today.”
The first game was played in fair conditions, the coach said, but both teams had to deal with light rain in the second game.
