After scoring 15 runs Thursday night at New Haven, the South Adams Starfires faced a much taller task against one of the better teams in the NE8 and fell in both games by large margins.
The Knights hit the Starfires two best pitchers hard in game one, scoring nine times against Peyton pries and then piling on six more against Gracy Bixler.
The middle of the Starfire lineup had success at the plate, but the Knights could not be held at bay when their turn came to bat.Â
Bekah Patterson, Peyton Pries and Sofie Schwartz all had two hits in the opening game, heard live on WZBD. Pries had three runs batted in.
In the second game, Bixler got the start instead of Pries, but she was hit equally as hard by the daunting Norwell lineup. Reagan Beitler pitched in relief and was touched for nine runs in less than three innings of work.Â
Peyton Pries faced just one batter in relief of Beitler and gave up a grand slam to Kaydence Clark in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The Starfires will try to put the losses behind them when they travel to Homestead Tuesday.
