The home course advantage at Timber Ridge proved to be too big of an advantage for the Bluffton Tigers as they got the better of the Adams Central Flying Jets in head coach Mitch Hill’s debut, winning by 11 strokes Monday night.
The Jets got consistent play across the board as all of Hill’s varsity players flirted with bogey golf and avoided the big numbers.
Bluffton shot 167 as a team.
Keaton Bush, Jayden Sharpe and Avery Biberstine all finished with identical 44s, while Eddie Everett was two strokes behind them at 46.
I was really pleased with how we played overall for our first match. Keaton Bush, Jayden Sharpe and Avery Biberstine led us in scoring. Sharpe opened the round with a birdie and Bush opened with a par. On JV, freshman Drew Johnson shot his best round so far this season with a 52. Bluffton is a solid team and competing against them will pay dividends for us as we move through the season. We definitely saw some great things on the course last night and we’re excited about where we can go from here

In JV action, Adams Central won by a comfortable margin at 219-233. Top scores for the Jets JV came from freshmen Drew Johnson (52) and Mason Fruechte (55). The rest of the team all finished at 56, with Austin Shifferly, Gabe Burgin and Zane Bard.
The Jets will play their first home meet at Wabash Valley Wednesday against Northfield.
