The Bellmont Braves wrapped up their regular season and their NE8 slate with a loss at Columbia City, but they avoided the shutout with a win in three sets by sophomore Caleb Coats.
Coats won the first set, but suffered a setback in the second. He dug down deep and picked up his game to give the Braves their only point.
The Braves did win another set, taking the first at No. 2 doubles, but Columbia City bounced back to take the last two.
Bellmont will play South Adams Wednesday in the sectional semifinal at Bluffton at 4:30 p.m.
