After giving up 36 runs over the weekend in a pair of games, the Adams Central Jets need a pick-me-up.
They got it in the form of an eight-run seventh inning Tuesday night in Auburn, turning a close non-conference game into a blowout 16-6 win in seven full innings.

The highlight of the game for the Jets was a pair of home runs and a triple for Barrett Collier, who finished 3-for-3 with six RBI. He also started the game on the mound, throwing five innings and allowing just one unearned run.

Collier’s three-run homer in the third gave the Jets a 6-2 advantage and when he came back up in the fifth, he homered again, knocking in Penn Shifferly both times.
The Jets did make five errors in the game and they were costly. Collier was charged with three unearned runs in his five innings of work and the home team scored two unearned runs in the sixth against reliever Chandler Voglewede.

That set up Adams Central for the big top of the seventh. Already with the two dingers in the game, Collier tripled home Jami Roach, who had reached on an RBI-double. Roach came back up later in the inning and made it a ten-run game with his second double of the frame.
Jacob Miller, who has been carrying much of the hitting load at the top of the lineup recently, raised his batting average with a 3-for-5 night.

Jami Roach was 2-for-5, knocking in three with his two doubles in the seventh.
First baseman Colston Pruitt also had a pair of hits in the victory.
