Shelby Weigel did it all Thursday night.
The South Adams senior smashed a pair of home runs, then took the ball as a relief pitcher, striking out four over the final two innings as the Starfires won on their home diamond over their biggest rivals, 6-1.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the third, when the Stars broke the game open on a two-run double by Avery Brown.
That was followed by Weigel’s first home run, a shot to center that made it 4-0.
When Andrea Isch got the Jets on the board with a single up the middle to score AC’s first run, Weigel came right back up in the bottom half of the inning and homered again.

The Stars took the field in the top of the sixth with Weigel in the circle, relieving Reagan Beitler, who struck out six in her five innings of work, allowing just the one run, which was unearned.
The Jets did put runners on in those two innings facing Weigel, taking three walks and finding three hits, but they could not score.
Reagan Beitler, who swapped spots with Weigel in that sixth inning, had a pair of hits for the Stars, as did Charlee Bollenbacher.
Jocelyn Rodeffer ended up with three hits for the Jets, whose only run came from Ellenberger’s double.
The Starfires moved to 4-1 in the ACAC for a tie for second place with Woodlan. Jay County sit at 5-0 in the driver’s seat with just a game on Monday against South Adams on the schedule.
