Adams Central’s regular season in varsity tennis ended on a down note in a tough, competitive match at Kreager Park Thursday night against Blackhawk Christian.

Setting themselves up for a run at next week’s Bluffton sectional, the Jets secured wins at No. 2 doubles and another at No. 2 singles with Demi Landis with a tiebreaker, but they couldn’t find a set in the other three matches.

Coach Disinger and her girls will watch anxiously Sunday night when the draws for next week’s sectional are made. Adams Central will compete with South Adams, Bellmont, Norwell and Bluffton for this year’s trophy.
The Jets last won the sectional title in 2021.
