The Bellmont Braves may not have played their best golf on Tuesday, but they did pick up a win against a sectional opponent at McMillen by beating the Heritage Patriots by seven strokes.
Led by a bogey round of 41 from senior Ella Hockemeyer, the Braves shot 187 as a team on the Par 32 back nine.
“The course wasn’t necessarily in good condition and the greens were slow,” noted Bellmont head coach Mike Macke, who noted the Braves strong performance in the high-stakes conference meet this past Saturday. “The win put us at 8-5 overall and that’s a good turnaround from last year’s 5-8 record.”

The Braves also got a good round from Kinley Martin. The junior shaved seven strokes off her last visit to the same nine holes.
Aubrey Stoll had her best round of the year for the Patriots on the back nine, shooting a 52.
The Patriots were led by a solid 45 from Morgan Comment, just one off her best round on those nine holes this year.
