Bishop Luers and Bellmont met on the artificial turf of the WBA Wednesday evening and the two teams played a pretty even game with rain playing a role at several points, but it was a four-run rally in the bottom of the third that ultimately separated the two teams.

Layne LeMaster started for the Braves and retired six of the eight batters he faced, allowing just two hits and a run in the bottom of the first.
For Luers, it was Austin West on the mound to begin the game. He held the Braves to just one run over five innings of work to earn the victory.

That run was created on the base paths by Layne LeMaster, who drew a two out walk and then worked his way around the bases before forcing a bad throw from West to get Bellmont off the mark.

Aiden Zimmerman came into the game at pitcher for Bellmont in the third inning and went the rest of the way. He was charged with five runs.

Bellmont got an RBI double from Oliver Werling in the seventh inning, but it was one of just four hits in the game for the away team.

The Braves are now 5-12 on the year and will head to DeKalb on Thursday, seeking their first NE8 win of the year in Waterloo.
