Bellmont took fourth place in both the girls’ and boys’ meets at Delta, getting good preparation for next week’s sectional races.
The Braves got a pair of top-ten finishes from their super freshmen, with Emmett Glenn leading the way in sixth and Frank Heimann breaking 17 minutes for the first time to take tenth.
Joe Kozlowski (pictured below) also had a stellar race, cutting five seconds from his career best, set just last week at the NE8 meet.
Bellmont also had new career marks set by Landon Sielschott, Owen Adams, Brandt Painter and Trent Huser, with Painter and Huser making major cuts to theirs by over a minute.
Some of the JV runners ran in a separate heat on the same course and those Braves were lightning fast, with a ton of career bests. New marks were set by Owen Garcia, Sebastian Heimann, Malachi Sparks, Sam Juengel, Ben Goble and Michael Penrod.
In the girls’ meet, the Braves got a career race from their top runner, Bristol Scherry. The freshman cut 20 more seconds from her time, set just last week at the conference meet. Three weeks ago, Scherry had not gone under 23 minutes and Saturday she was at 22:04.
Another BHS freshman, Elle Garcia, made a big cut to her career mark, as well. Garcia (shown below) was 44 seconds faster than last week, which had been her best 5K time.
Other career marks were set by Bellmont’s Lilly Franz, Bridget Juengel, Haylee Franz, MaKenna Rich and Savannah Lindsey.
