Zaden Baumer threw for 323 yards and three touchdowns as the South Adams Starfires handed Heritage the Patriots’ first loss of the year.
The Starfire defense was able to bend, but not break, throughout the game, despite allowing 248 yards of rushing to the Heritage ground attack.

Heritage had virtually no success in the air until a long, 64-yard toss by Zeb Tigulis with a minute left to Bryson Berg. Tigulis completed just two screen passes otherwise, both to Lucas Taylor for 19 yards. Taylor was held in check on the ground with just 27 yards.

The main Heritage option was Jax Litchfield with 86 yards on 14 carries.

Baumer had all the Starfire success on the ground, picking up 70 of the team’s 85 yards.
15 of Baumer’s 29 pass completions came from Jax Wanner. He was targeted 24 times and tallied 179 yards receiving.
Sty Pyle started the scoring in the second quarter with a touchdown catch, but Tigulis answered with a drive and a score a few minutes later.

Baumer then hit Wes Summersett from nine yards out and Wanner on the two-point conversion for a 15-6 lead at halftime.
Colton Sprunger got in the end zone on the Stars’ first offensive possession of the second half and the defense did the rest.
