Londyn Smith and Sophia Orr were celebrated on Senior Night Thursday at Wabash Valley and together they helped the Starfires dominate Winchester on the Front Nine ahead of next week’s sectional.
The Stars shot 182, which was their best score on the Front this year by five strokes (187 vs. Southern Wells). Smith led the way individually with a 41, one stroke off her season-best mark on the Front. She carded three pars on No. 7, 8, and 9 to finish in style.
Sophia Orr (shown below) shot 51 and was one of four scores that counted for the home team in their new season-best mark. Orr nailed her birdie putt on No. 9 for a moment she won’t forget on the big night.
Brooklyn Green (shown below) played her best golf of the season and recorded her lowest round of the year with a 43.
Margo Bernard had a career round of 47 in the JV match for South Adams.
The Stars will have one last tune-up Wednesday before Friday’s sectional at Chestnut Hills.
