Matt Schultz, Decatur’s street/sanitation superintendent, has been named the city’s ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and Title VI coordinator.
The title was handed Schultz via resolution at a recent meeting of the city’s board of works and safety.
Former city employee Jeremy Gilbert had served in the role.
Schultz will oversee the city’s ADA and Title VI compliance.

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination based on race, color, and national origin in any program or activity that receives federal financial assistance.
Schultz was named following a report at the meeting by Mitch Hansel of USI Consultants concerning the city’s ongoing compliance with ADA and Title VI regulations.
Hansel monitors the city’s compliance. “We need to continue to make progress,” he said.
