Annette Mendez Liederbach, 63, of Decatur, IN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28th, 2026, at her home, surrounded by loved ones. Annette was born on February 15th, 1963 in Adams County, IN to the late Blas G. Mendez and Sarah (Hower) Mendez. Annette married John Liederbach on March 2nd, 1985.
Annette was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She touched the lives of many with her profound sense of humor and warmth. Annette possessed a friendly, outgoing nature and could connect with anyone. Her radiant smile and laugh lit up any room she entered. Annette was passionate about life and was very devoted to her family. She was very creative and had many hobbies, including stained-glass making, reading, and crafting. She enjoyed being a grandmother most of all.

Annette was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. A 1981 graduate of Bellmont High School. Annette worked for Thunderbird from 1994-2004.
She is survived by her loving husband, John, her two children, Lucas (Kristine) Liederbach and Sarah (Dustin) Elzey, her grandson Alexander, her siblings Cynthia (Mark) Corral, Delores Lopez, Jesse (Cindy) Mendez, Lee Andra (Frank) Augon, Patricia (Dennis) Stapleton, Tony (Ingrid) Mendez, Kathryn Hake Mendez, and Anita (Don) Main. She was preceded in death by her brother Jospeph Mendez.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Father Jacob Runyon will be presiding. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the Mass from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Parish Hall (enter through doors on 4th Street).
Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
