Adams Central reversed a 3-2 loss to Bellmont earlier in the year and turned it into a 3-2 victory in the sectional semifinal Thursday at Bluffton.

Lila Ringger provided the key turnaround, turning a loss in the regular season against Lilyana Suarez into a straight-set victory at No. 3 singles. When the two met earlier in the year, Suarez won 6-4 in a deciding third set.

The final result came down to the match at No. 2 singles after both teams had picked up two points in straight sets in the other contests.

Adams Central’s Demi Landis took the opening set 6-4 against Lillian Jin, but the Bellmont senior charged back to win herself 6-4. That set up a winner-take-all third set individually and for the team match. Landis got the break of serve she needed and clinched the match, 7-5.

The Jets will face Bluffton in the final, hoping to win their first sectional title since 2021 Friday afternoon.
