The Southern Wells Raiders simply had no answers for Jami Roach. The Adams Central starter pitched a two-hit complete game and finally got the Jets off the mark in 2026 with a 5-1 win in the ACAC Friday.

Much like he did on the football field, where he hit the Raiders for 134 yards rushing and three TDs in the fall, Roach had a great night against his conference rivals. Roach had a double at the plate and 12 strikeouts on the mound to give Adams Central the win despite the absence of head coach Josh Foster.
Roach’s only run allowed as unearned and he did not walk a batter. He did, however, hit four batters, with Jakob Gearheart plunked on the second pitch of the game and scoring on an error. The Raiders never sniffed a run after the first.

The Jets did not have an immediate answer against SW starter Landon Johnson, but they did get to him in the bottom of the second, tying the game with an RBI hit by Max Byerly after Reece Hammond reached and stole second.

Adams Central capitalized on a Southern Wells error to double their advantage in the third, then broke the game open in the fourth. Jacob Miller executed a clean bunt to score a run and Joey Everett drove in another with a sac fly.
Freshman Colston Pruitt then doubled home Hayden Bluhm to make it 5-1.

Roach took care of the rest from there, allowing just one base hit – a double by Johnson – the rest of the way.
The Jets are set to honor their state runner-up team in a game against Monroe Central Saturday. That game will be broadcast on WZBD, 92.7 FM.
