Lucas Taylor homered and scored three runs on a three-hit night as the Heritage Patriots beat South Side in just five innings Thursday, 12-2.
In addition to his bomb, Taylor was awarded the victory by the Heritage official scorer with a clean inning of relief to see out the game.

Heritage, expecting a doubleheader Saturday, gave two innings to Beau Stoppenhagen, then two more to Max Mirelez before turning to Taylor in the fifth. With the ten-run margin, Taylor only needed to throw 16 pitches to end the ball game.
Taylor hit his solo shot in the top of the fifth and was followed by another bomb by Max Mirelez for what was ultimately the final run in the game.
Shortstop Kingston Galentine had a double, a single, two RBI and two runs from the fifth spot in the lineup.
