Two sophomores, now at the top of the Bellmont golf lineup, led the Bellmont Braves to an NE8 win over New Haven on the Majorki Nine Tuesday in difficult conditions with a stiff wind causing plenty of trouble on the short course.

Chase Baker and Jacob Binegar, playing together as the top pair, both shot 39 to lead Bellmont to a 166-211 victory. Carson Manley finished his round at #5 with a 39, as well.
Binegar putted well at the start, making pars on the first two holes. He made another par on No. 8, finishing with the +6 score with six single bogeys.

Baker had a similar round, making difficult pars on No. 2 and No. 4 and recording just one double on his way to his 39.
The difficulty of the conditions was evident in the lack of a single birdie from any player in the varsity lineup on the night.

The team will have a chance to practice in relatively warm weather before playing their first 18-hole round of the year at Foster Park for the traditional Concordia Invite.
