Becky S. Everett, 71, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026 at her residence. Becky was the daughter of the late Donald and Flo (Kaylor) Bauer, she was born on April 24, 1954 in Fort Wayne, IN.
Becky was self-employed and owner of Stay N Play Daycare for 49 ½ years for over 80 children and was a foster parent. She was a former Girl Scout Troop Leader for many years and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Chad (Crystal) Burkholder of Ohio City, OH, Matt (fiancé Dawn Grimm) Burkholder of Decatur, Eric (Janis) Cover of Woodburn, IN; 3 brothers, Ronald (Karen) Bauer of Ft. Wayne, Chris (Laura) Bauer of Decatur, Dale (Lisa) Bauer of Holland, MI; a sister, Gale Bauer of Decatur and a sister-in-law, Penny Bauer of Defiance, OH; 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Becky was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Bauer, grandson, Austin Burkholder and a daughter-in-law, Michele Burkholder.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
Preferred memorials are to A.C.C.F. Angel Cancer Fund.
