FORT WAYNE – The Bellmont Braves are healthy and ready to make some noise in the 2026 Track & Field season.
After a couple of injuries sidelined two of their best athletes last year, coach Carl Risch’s team got two standout performances at the NE8 Indoor Meet from two girls, Jazlyn Brown and Mary Bleke, who were on the sideline last year.
Brown, who missed all of last season with major surgery on her knee, equaled her career mark from her impressive freshman season with a jump of 4-10, good enough for fifth.
Bleke, meanwhile, won the shot put event with a season-best throw of 33-09, which was 7.25 inches longer than her previous indoor best this season. Bleke threw over 35 feet last year as a newcomer to the sport before breaking her foot.

Classmate Alayna Baker also threw a career long and took third, helping the Braves to a fourth-place team finish.
In the boys’ meet, Hudson Krull set a new personal best when he cleared 5-08 in the high jump.

In the pole vault, sophomore Landon Sielschott was at nine feet, matching his career best, while his understudy, freshman Sam Juengel, was right there with him for an impressive performance.
