A fatal accident occurred Friday night around 7:35 p.m. in the area of State Road 18 and County Road 750 North in Jay County, according to the Jay County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Brinnin Wasson of the Sheriff’s Office, a 2015 Chevy Silverado, driven by 50-year-old Mark Bauman of rural Geneva, was traveling eastbound on State Road 18 and veered into the westbound lane and collided with a 2016 Jeep Wrangler, driven by 39-year-old Amber R. Holloway of rural Poneto, Indiana.
Both vehicles sustained heavy front end damage. Holloway was transported by helicopter to Lutheran Hospital with back and hip injuries.
Mark D. Bauman was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
