MONROE – They simply could not miss.
The Adams Central Flying Jets had enough of their 11-game losing streak Thursday night and they had no mercy on poor Fremont, knocking down nearly every shot they took in the first half on their way to an 80-40 doubling up of the Eagles.

It didn’t matter much where the Jets shot, they all went in. Lawson Deathe knocked down four from behind the arc in the first half and Braylend Reber just could not be stopped. The two combined for 25 points in the first quarter alone.

Reber put the ball through the hoop 14 times in the first half from the field and the free throw line on the way to a 31-point night, leading all scorers.

Adams Central led 31-9 after one and 57-16 at halftime before pulling back the reins in the second half with the running clock.

Deathe ended the night with 28.

Coach Adams can now ride this win into a week of practice ahead of the all-important intra-county clash with South Adams next Friday. The Jets had not won a game since December 19th before Thursday. The game between the Stars and the Jets will be broadcast live on 92.7 FM.
