Paul W. Johnson (Bud), 90, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Adams Woodcrest. He was born in Decatur, IN, on May 10, 1935, the son of the late Paul E. and Bernice E. (Thornton) Johnson. On November 20, 1955, he married the love of his life, Lois B. Strahm. They just recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with family and friends.

Paul was very proud of completely remodeling and building his family home in Decatur, where they raised their 3 children. He was a member of St. Mark’s Church, where he served on many boards over the years.
He was an Engineer and was involved in management with MEMCOR in Huntington, IN, and retired after 38 years of service. After retirement Paul and his wife Lois were residence of Port Orange, Florida for 23 years. For 20 of those years, he became a local handyman. During that time, he completely remodeled and rebuilt his second home in Florida.
Paul had a heart for Missions, especially Red Bird in Kentucky where he and Lois spent countless summers helping repair and rebuild homes. Paul also served and was very active with a men’s group in Port Orange, Florida called “Team Jesus”.
Paul is survived his wife of 70 years, Lois Johnson of Decatur, IN; 2 sons, Paul (Jackie) Johnson Jr. of Elyria, OH, Bill (Joyce) Johnson of Decatur, IN; a daughter, Jennifer Baczynski of Decatur, IN; a brother, Jerry L. Johnson of Sherrills Ford, NC; two sisters, Norma L. (Frank) Moser and Carolyn A. (David) Schaefer both of Bluffton, IN; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Myles Baczynski; two sisters, Ruth Stroud and Sharon Ries.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Church Decatur. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor David Reed. Burial will take place in M.R.E. Cemetery, Berne, IN.
Memorials may be given to St. Mark’s Church Missions.
