Four different players finished in double digits and the Leo Lions picked up a win in the StarDome Tuesday night, beating South Adams, 62-46.
Strong performances by Laney Trausch and Ana Lehman were not enough for the Stars to take down a Leo team that moved to 6-1 with a victory.

“We battled pretty hard for all four quarters tonight against a nice Leo team,” said head coach Brett Freeman. “Offensively we were aggressive and forced them into some foul trouble in the first half.”

Freeman noted that he felt his team played well enough in the first half to have a lead at the break, but instead his girls found themselves trailing 27-18.
Both teams turned up the offense in the third quarter and Leo lengthened their lead by outscoring the home team 20-17.
“We struggled out of the gates with some silly turnovers in the third,” noted Freeman. “They were able to push the lead out.”

Despite the loss, Freeman was pleased with his team’s overall performance, including a 20-point night from Trausch.
“The girls are really starting to come around and play like we’re capable of,” said Freeman.

Trausch was 10 of 12 on the night for the Stars at the free throw line.
Ana Lehman knocked down two threes as part of her 15-point performance. Charlee Bollenbacher also had a pair of threes.
The Starfires will play at Bluffton Friday to kick off the ACAC season.
