Deadly three-point shooting and the defense that Bellmont fans have come to expect from the undefeated Braves combined to give coach Andy Heim’s #5-ranked team a 67-29 over rival Adams Central Tuesday.

Maya Schlemmer’s three landed the Braves on the new pop-culture magic number in the fourth quarter, sent the bench and the student section into a frenzy, but what they should have been celebrating was a wild shooting performance from the Braves, who knocked down nine from behind the arc.
Lanie French led the Braves with fifteen points, including three long balls. Her defense helped the home team jump out to a 28-8 lead at half time.

Nine different players reached the scoring column for the Braves, with Ashley Bleke getting eleven and Mary Bleke ten.

Ava Stafford led the Jets in scoring with 13 points.

Adams Central dropped to 2-4 with the loss. They’ll open up play in the ACAC Saturday at Southern Wells.
Bellmont’s sixth win in six games allows them to focus on one of their biggest games of the year – a home game against Homestead.
