The Wayne Generals got 18 points from Davianna Irons and stopped the Heritage Patriots’ winning streak at two games, emerging victorious Tuesday night by a 33-24 score.
Coming off a win in their home opener against Hamilton on Monday night, the Patriots did not find the bucket as easily against the Generals. A single bucket by Audra Bickel was the only score for the home team in the opening quarter, putting them behind from the very beginning.

The Patriots continued to show heart, however, and they reversed their fortunes in the second quarter, receiving scoring contributions from five different players and coming all the way back to tie things up at 15-15 going into the locker rooms.

The offense sputtered again in the second half and the home team made just three field goals the rest of the way. They made 3 of 8 free throws in the fourth quarter to further harm their chances of a comeback.

Three Heritage players ended the night with five points – Olivia Lybarger, Audra Bickel and Elise Hissong.

The Patriots will continue their homestand Saturday by hosting state-ranked Bellmont on a game that will be heard on WZBD.
