It was a difficult race for runners from Adams County Saturday at the Delta IHSAA Cross Country Sectional, but two girls from Z-Land punched their ticket to regional and the Norwell Knights beat out Jay County and Bluffton to win the team race.
Adalynn Watson, who has spent the entire season running by herself for the Starfires, was seventh overall and will do her best to lower her time and take a shot at the State Finals.
Bellmont’s Sydney Angel joined the Braves’ Logan Whitacre as making it another week as the very last runner to advance, finishing in 38th place. She finished four seconds ahead of Adams Central’s top duo (Hailey Brune and Adi Rumschlag) and ended the Jets’ season.
