SELMA — The Adams Central girls golf team put together a standout night Monday at Cardinal Hills Golf Club, defeating Union Modoc 186–222 on Thursday. The Jets’ 186 was just one stroke shy of tying the school’s all-time 9-hole team record, making the evening both a victory and a near-history-making performance.

Sophomore Londyn Smith led the way with a smooth 42, continuing her steady run as the Jets’ anchor. Sophomore Tenley Hendricks fired a career-best 45, while senior Sophie Johnson also recorded a personal record with a 48. Junior Adrienne Johnson added a 51, and junior Lily Johnson rounded out the varsity scoring with a 56.

“Tonight, the girls put more emphasis on course management since it was a new course to them, and it paid off,” head coach Nick Smith said. “We were only a shot away from the school record they set earlier in the year, and they all felt like they could have shot 8 strokes or better, each. Seeing Tenley and Sophie set their PRs made the night even more special.”
On the JV side, freshman Claire Arner continued her development with a 58.
The victory closed out the regular season for the Lady Jets, who finish with multiple program-best scores and a roster filled with personal milestones. Their next test will be the Homestead Sectional at Chestnut Hills Golf Club on Friday, September 19, where they will look to carry their momentum into postseason play.
