Everything went South Adams’ way Friday night in their home opener of 2025 as Tytus Lehman ran for two scores and threw for two, beating the Bellmont Braves 53-0 without much fuss from the visitors.

The result was the near inverse of the Stars’ Week 1 matchup with Marion Local, where everything seemed to be stacked against them on the road.

With two weeks of play under their belts, the Starfires can now focus on what’s important to them – competing at the very top of the ACAC. That quest begins with a very difficult test at Bluffton next week.
For the Bellmont Braves, it was the 34th loss in a row. The offense was unable to score and managed just 97 yards of total offense.

South Adams scored at will in the first quarter, taking a poor punt from the Braves’ first possession and going 40 yards for the first score, with Lehman scoring on the tuck and run from seven yards out.
Bellmont fumbled on the very first handoff of the next possession and they were immediately punished by Lehman, who found Wes Summersett uncovered and wide open down the middle of the field for a 33-yard touchdown catch on the first series.

It got even worse for the Braves, who fumbled the ensuing kickoff, and just 22 seconds later, Lehman picked up a bad snap and turned a broken play into a scoring play, turning the corner on the left side and taking it in for the score.

Bellmont finally put some plays together and picked up two first downs, but a fourth-down conversion attempt ended in a sack and Will Patterson scored soon thereafter, shaking off two would-be tacklers to push the score to 27-0 at the halfway point of the first quarter.
Wes Summersett caused a Bellmont fumble on the next Braves series and Blake Hoffman scooped it and scored from 30 yards out.

Another poor punt by the Braves set South Adams up for a short field and the score was pushed to 40-0 on Patterson’s second touchdown of the game with one minute still remaining in the opening quarter.
Just three minutes later, Lehman showed how talented he can be with his arm by laying out a perfect pass to Summersett at the goal line for a 30-yard strike, bringing the score in the first half to a staggering 46-0 mark.

With the running clock in the second half, South Adams was able to cycle out most of their starters, handing the reins over to Zaden Baumer. He connected well with fellow sophomore Nolan Colpaert and the two eventually put one more score on the board with eight minutes left in the game from five yards out. Baumer finished 5-for-5 with the TD in his time at QB.

Lehman ended the game 8-for-11 with the two TDs for 150 yards. Patterson led the Stars in rushing with 44 yards.
Bellmont gave the bulk of their carries to senior Oliver Werling. He finished with 33 yards on 15 carries. A big chunk of the Braves’ 97 yards of offense came on a nice play late in the game down the middle, with Faurote hitting Werling for a 24-yard completion.

Charlie Faurote was 8-for-23, completing passes to seven different receivers for 71 yards passing.

Sty Pyle had an outstanding kickoff return of 46 yards to start the second half and also picked up 29 yards rushing.
Bellmont committed five turnovers to hurt their chances of getting on the scoreboard.
