Duane Lee “Curls” Schuller, 77, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Adams Woodcrest of Decatur.
He was born in Decatur on September 14, 1947 to the late Frank and Helen (Ehlerding) Schuller.

Curls graduated from Monmouth High School in 1965.
Following high school, Curls answered his Nation’s Call and Honorably Served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Following his time in the service, Curls went on to work as a Truck Driver. He had also worked for Harvester and Navistar.
He was a life member and 2nd Vice of VFW Post 6236 in Decatur; a life member of the DAV in Van Wert, Chapter 54; Decatur Eagles Arie 2653; Decatur Moose 1311; former member of the Decatur Legion Post #43; and Fort Wayne La Societe Des 40 Hommes Et 8 Chevaux Post 43.
Curls enjoyed watching movies and cooking. He will be fondly remembered for his famous Extra Large Pizza.
He is survived by his sons, Kevin F. Schuller and Jessie (Brandy) Schuller; grandson, Apollo; sister, Kathleen Hammond; companion, Jill Harris; and many nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were a sister, Carol Gase; brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Per Curls wishes cremation services will take place.
Preferred memorials are to the donor’s choice and can be made through Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur.
