Norwell won a closely contested tri-meet in local varsity action Thursday at Worthman Stadium on the campus of Bellmont High School, beating out the host Braves by just seven points while also winning easily over Adams Central.
A pair of Bellmont freshmen won the throwing events, while Tia Coyne won both hurdle events on her Senior Night.
Notes & Times:
-Adi Knipstein was clocked at a career-best 13.6 for third place in the 100 for Bellmont.
-Lanie French ran a 28.1 to win the 200, knocking .25 from her previous career best, set back at the NE8 meet this season.
-Kylee Frock ran a 29 flat in the 200 – a new career best – and was third in the 200.
-Tia Coyne had an outstanding winning time in the 100 hurdles (18.7) – the best of the Bellmont senior’s career. Coyne did the same thing in the 300 hurdles, winning with a career best of 53.7.
-Freshman Kaitlyn Barton cleared 4-06 for the first time in her career and finished tied for third place for Bellmont.
-Gracie Roman was fourth in the long jump for AC with a new career best.
-Another Bellmont freshman, Braelyn Radecki, won the discus with a new career best. She threw 99 feet to beat out Norwell’s Kaylee Eicher.
-Melanie Eicher (AC) was third in the discus, adding 11 feet to her previous PR.
