Fort Recovery pounced on defensive errors and had just two RBIs in a 7-6 win over South Adams Friday night, demonstrating just how many extra outs the Starfires gave their Ohio neighbors in a back-and-forth game between the two schools.
The Starfires committed three errors in the game and despite all the mistakes, still had the tying run in scoring position when the game ended.
That tying run was Addie Baker, who cleared the bases with a double off the outfielder’s glove to make it a 7-6 game.
Avery Brown had a triple in the losing effort and Reece Beitler had two singles for the Stars.
Baker pitched a complete game, striking out eight. Four of her seven runs allowed were earned.
South Adams will play twice Saturday, with their first game being against Manchester.
The Stars are now 13-4 after the tough loss.
