New Haven’s elite thrower, John Bussard, won the discus Tuesday night at Bellmont with a throw of over 163 feet for the Bulldogs – a throw that would have been put him sixth in the state last year at the State Finals – as the visitors easily defeated the Braves, 91-35.
Bussard is the defending sectional champion, winning last year’s meet in May with a throw of 146 feet.
Parker Frietas had his best 200 of the last two years to finish third for the Braves.
