Two of the very best boys’ volleyball teams in Allen County met at Heritage Wednesday as the Patriots hosted FW Snider. Heritage had just one loss coming into the night – to Homestead – but it was the visitors who won the fourth and deciding set by the slimmest of margins, 26-24, for the victory.

After losing the first two sets 25-22 and 27-25, Heritage picked one up at 26-24.

That sent Zeke Litchfield, his teammates and a rather large home crowd into a frenzy and set up the dramatic fourth set.

Litchfield led the home team with 19 kills but most of the gym spent the evening in awe of Snider’s special player – Landen Altic. The senior had a whopping 29 kills, scoring at over a 50% rate for the Panthers.

The Patriots were aided by a staggering number of service errors from Snider, 24 in total, to keep the early sets close.

Alex Nagel and Graham Simmons had a good night with four block assists each.
Eli Tigulis led the Patriots with 38 assists.
