If wins in softball were measured by number of hits, the Adams Central Flying Jets would be celebrating their first win of the season after outhitting the host Knights 14 to 11 in Monday’s featured game on WZBD, 92.7 FM.
Of course, that’s not how the game is played and it was the Knights who pushed AC’s poor start to the year to an 0-4 record after a 12-6 victory.

Norwell seized momentum early with a 9-1 lead after four innings, knocking AC starter Brinlee Rinkenberger out of the game in the fourth inning.
The Jets did come back, though, scoring a three spot in the top of the fifth – with Adaline and Andrea Isch providing the big, RBI hits.

Norwell answered right back, increasing their lead from 9-4 to 12-4 with a couple of extra-base hits to lead off the very next frame.

Rinkenberger started a rally in the sixth with a double, scoring in an inning where Adams Central cut the lead to 12-6, but Kara Brown got out of the inning and Mia Kurtz fired a flawless final frame to see out the victory on a brisk, windy night at the Norwell diamond.
Izzy Isch led the Jets with three runs on three hits, knocked in by four hits apiece from Melina Peralez and Adaline Isch.
The Jets head back to the site of their sectional from a few years back – Manchester – and will look for their first victory Tuesday.
