The undefeated Heritage Patriots were cruising along Thursday evening in Fort Wayne with a 4-0 lead and their ace, Danica Fuller, dealing.

Then the Panthers woke up the fire that coach Amanda Minchski’s team hasn’t needed much of in their early-season hot start.
A rare walk by Fuller, issued with one out in the home half of the fifth, started a Snider rally. Two well-placed singles followed and the home team brought the tying run to the plate with the bases loaded.

Ameera Kummer hit a ball hard into center field to put Snider on the board, but a good throw by Abriyah James kept the bases loaded.
Fuller then struck out the next batter on three pitches and got out of the inning with a swinging strikeout to keep Snider at bay.

It was just one inning of another complete game for Fuller, who struck out eleven and allowed just five hits in the victory. She also had two doubles and a single with her bat.

The Patriots, now 8-0, got big hits from James and Avi Washington along the way to their 6-1 win.

Heritage will host Carroll on Monday ahead of a showdown with sectional rival and neighbor Bellmont Wednesday, which will be broadcast on 92.7 FM.
