Chub Armstrong of Geneva, IN, passed away at 5:35 PM on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur, IN. at the age of 99. She was born on Saturday, August 29, 1925, in Geneva, IN.
She married Clarence “Steve” Armstrong on Sunday, April 25, 1943 at the High Street United Methodist Church, Geneva, IN.; he preceded her in death on July 14, 1980. Chub was a graduate of Geneva High School. She had worked for CTS, managed the Geneva golf course, worked at the Geneva License Branch, and for Bixler Insurance Co. Chub was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Geneva, Geneva Lions Club, and was Past President of the Geneva Town Council. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.
She will be sadly missed by her sons – Hal T. (Kathy) Armstrong, Geneva, IN, Matthew C. (Renee) Armstrong, Huntington, IN, daughter-in-law- Sammie Armstrong, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband – Clarence “Steve” Armstrong, father – Harold Schlagenhauf, mother- Alice (Pyle) Schlagenhauf, brother – Bruce Schlagenhauf, sisters – Patricia Sprunger, and Sue Fields, sons-Tim Lee and Nicles S. Armstrong, and grandson- Steve Armstrong.
To honor her wishes there will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Downing & Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva.
